Welcome to the ITF Women's Tournament of the Leipzig Open 2017 & 2016.
Part of the Leipzig Open are several tournaments. The most important tournament is the ITF Women's Tournament, the only international women's tournament in Eastern Germany.
We expect 250 players from 22 nations to participate, playing for 60 World Cup points and $25,000 in prize money.
20th International Saxon Championships
The International Saxon Championships for men and women will take place at the same time. This is a national ranking tournament,
where 32 male and 32 female players compete for the victory.
The tournament thus belongs to the highest category of national tournaments. The ISM are part of the Plan German Masters Series presented by Wilson.

Already in the 12th year the exclusive glass trophies are produced
are manufactured by the Victor Alexander glassworks, Walter Wiesmüller is responsible for the design.
Each of these glass trophies is a handmade unicum & is manufactured exclusively for the Leipzig Open 2017 and for the ITF Pro Circuit Ladies Tournament.

World ranking points at the Leipzig Tennis Club 1990
Already since 2003 the LEIPZIG OPEN take place at the LTC. Since that time the tournament has continuously developed into a top event of the national tennis scene from our club. Since 2005 the tournament was part of the German Masters Series. In 2012, the tournament and we as organizers were awarded the prize "Best National Tennis Tournament". In 2016, the LEIPZIG OPEN received the award "Best International Tennis Tournament in Germany".
In 2017, we will again award world ranking points at the LEIPZIG OPEN - World Ranking Tournament for Women with a total prize money of 25,000 dollars.
Also the 19th International Saxon Championships will again take place at the LEIPZIG OPEN. Ladies and men fight for the Saxon crown and for 10.200 Euro prize money.
Olesya Pervushina from Khabarovsk (RUS) wins the ITF Tournament 2016
In a very exciting match the Russian born Olesya Pervushina (world ranking 609) defeated the Austrian Julia Grabher (world ranking 321) 7:6, 3:6, 7:5.
The winner received a handmade winner's cup from Victor Alexander, which is set with a Swarovski crystal, as well as an original diamond worth about € 20,000, which was sponsored by Mainhatten Properties GmbH and presented by Mr. Adalbert Schmidt.

Winners of the ITF World Ranking Tournament 2016 in Leipzig are Nicola Geuer (GER) & Anna Klasen (GER) who won 7:6 & 7:5 against Michaela Honcova (SVK) & Olga Ianchuk (UKR).
The doubles final will be 25 points for the world ranking and 719.00 for the winning pair.

The Leipzig Open 2016 takes the next step. The largest tennis tournament in eastern Germany succeeds in this edition of the promotion to a $25,000 competition as part of the German Masters Series.

The unveiling was done by Bela Schmidt who sponsored the original diamond and by glass artist Walter Wiesmüller who made the winning glass trophy with the gemstone for the winner of the ITF.
