" Cup of Legends 2011 "
Frankfurt Germany
Pat Cash wins against Ivan Lendl
I'm sure you feel the same way - there are tennis matches and there are matches that you never forget. Matches that have captivated and captivated us all. One of these matches is certainly the encounter of Ivan Lendl and Michael Chang in the round of 16 of the French Open in Paris in 1989.
There is hardly a sports fan who does not remember this match, which lasted almost five hours and ended with the surprise victory of young Michael Chang, who left Paris as the youngest Grand Slam winner ever.
We are proud to see eight-time Grand Slam champion Ivan Lendl, one of the most successful players of all time, and French Open champion Michael Chang enter a German stadium for the first time since the end of their careers and play together with other world stars for the Cup of Legends.
Their opponents will not make it easy for them. With the Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash, the French Davis Cup hero Henri Leconte, the Swedish Davis Cup Champion Mikael Pernfors and the German Davis Cup legend Charly Steeb, the field of the Cup of Legends is top.
The field is completed by the youngest player of the Cup of Legends, Nicolas Kiefer, the silver medal winner of the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 and Peter McNamara & Mansour Bahrami.
Offizieller Trophy-Maker
as in this year the exclusive glass goblets are made by the Victor Alexander glassworks, Walter Wiesmüller is responsible for the design.

Therefore, we would like to thank our patron, the Prime Minister of the State of Hesse, Volker Bouffier, the City of Frankfurt and its Sports Director, City Councillor Markus Frank, the sponsors, without whom such a tournament would not be possible, the entire Welldone team for their tireless efforts and last but not least you, dear tennis fans, who with your visit make this tournament what it should be, a great tennis weekend for all sports fans.
